Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Charles Frederick facing right, with flowing curled wig in the baroque style. The effigy is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The circumferential Latin legend reads CAROL FRID D G DVX SVPR SLES, abbreviated for Carolus Fridericus Dei Gratia Dux Supremus Slesvici. The legend is contained within an outer border of fine milled denticles running around the full circumference of the coin.
