| Obverse description | Bare head of Victor Amadeus III facing left, with elaborate curled hair tied at the nape; the truncation of the neck is sharply defined. The circular legend reads VIC · AM · D · G · REX · SARDINIAE · around the periphery within a beaded border. The date 1786 appears in the exergue below the portrait. The effigy is rendered in a refined neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th-century Italian coinage. |
