Obverse description The portrait in left profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797, is accompanied with the motto `IN GOD WE TRUST` and the lettering `LIBERTY` and it is surrounded with the face value and the inscription `UNITED STATES OF AMERICA`, engravers` initials on neck truncation.

Reverse description The statue `Commonwealth`, an allegorical female figure, against the outline of the state, is accompanied with the state`s name (`PENNSYLVANIA`), the date of its admission into Union (`1787`), a keystone which illustrates its nickname (The Keystone State), the three words `VIRTUE LIBERTY INDEPENDENCE`, the motto `E PLURIBUS UNUM` at the bottom and engraver`s initials to the right of statue`s legs.
