| Reverse description | The reverse design, engraved by Phebe Hemphill, depicts a tall limestone latte stone standing prominently near the shoreline, representing the ancient monumental architecture of the indigenous Chamorro people. A traditional outrigger canoe of the Carolinian seafarers is shown in the middle ground, symbolising the remarkable navigational heritage of the islands' peoples. Two white fairy terns fly in characteristic paired formation above the scene. The lower border of the design is framed by a decorative Carolinian mwar — a traditional head garland composed of plumeria, ylang-ylang, peacock flower, and Pacific basil blossoms.
