Reverse description The reverse depicts a Puerto Rican parrot (Amazona vittata) perched prominently on a branch amid lush tropical foliage, rendered in fine detail against a naturalistic forest background characteristic of El Yunque National Forest. A second parrot is visible among the vegetation in the lower left field, reinforcing the endangered species theme. The legend EL YUNQUE arcs along the upper rim, with PUERTO RICO inscribed to the left and E PLURIBUS UNUM along the right. The date 2012 appears in the exergue below the central design. The engravers' initials GW and MG are present in the lower field.
