| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of Queen Isabella I of Spain, depicted with an ornately jeweled crown adorned with floral motifs, elaborately braided and beaded hair, a decorative pearl collar, and richly embroidered robes. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a Renaissance-inspired style engraved by Charles E. Barber. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs around the periphery, with the date 1893 positioned vertically to the right of the effigy. The entire design is framed by a closely spaced beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Central effigy of a kneeling female figure, symbolic of women's industry, facing left and holding a distaff in her left hand and a spindle in her right hand. The design was created to honor the contributions of the Board of Lady Managers of the World's Columbian Exposition. The circular legend BOARD OF LADY MANAGERS arcs across the upper field, while COLUMBIAN QUAR. DOL. appears along the lower periphery. A beaded border frames the entire composition. |
