Obverse description Bust of Kanishka I facing left in three-quarter view, depicted as a bearded ruler wearing a distinctive Kushan crown or helmet with a circular ornament at the apex. The king is shown in royal attire with a necklace or torque visible at the neck, his right hand raised in a gesture before him. A Bactrian legend in Greek-derived script runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the ruler.
