Additional information

Issued as part of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization coin program, which ran from the late 1960s onward and recruited dozens of central banks to mint commemorative circulation pieces promoting agricultural development. Jordan's participation in 1969 coincided with a period of severe economic strain following the 1967 war, which had displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians into the East Bank and fundamentally restructured the country's labor force and food supply demands.

The FAO program pieces from this era were struck for genuine circulation, not collectors — a distinction that matters for grade expectations on surviving examples.
