| Obverse description | Central field occupied by multiple lines of Kufic Arabic legend arranged in concentric textual bands within a circular border. The inscription, struck in angular early Kufic script, is densely packed and partially weakly struck due to the hammered technique and irregular flan. The field is enclosed by a double or triple incuse circular line border, with a marginal legend running along the periphery, itself bounded by the irregular coin edge. The overall design is aniconic and purely epigraphic, consistent with Ismaili Fatimid coinage practice, with the central area bearing the Shahada and the caliph's name or titles. |
