Reverse description A plain cross pattée extending to the inner beaded border, dividing the field into four quarters and bisecting the surrounding legend. The arms of the cross are bold and flat-ended, characteristic of hammered billon coinage of the late medieval Lorraine ecclesiastical mints. The legend, reading in two words around the cross, identifies the place of coinage as Marsal. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, as typical of issues of this denomination and period.
