| Reverse description | Central depiction of the fortified city gate of Riga, shown as a towered gateway with two prominent flanking towers crowned with onion-shaped domes, rendered in an architectural heraldic style. A small crown surmounts the gate structure in the upper field. The date 1668 is divided on either side of the city gate motif, and the engraver's initials 'I·M' (for Jochim Meinecke) appear in the lower field. The circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design along the coin's periphery, identifying this as a new silver coin of the City of Riga. |
