| Obverse description | Central round hole encircled by a sweeping wreath of rice stalks bearing elongated grain husks, the stems curving gracefully around the perforation. The legend NEDERLANDSCH INDIE arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, with the date 1934 positioned at the right. The denomination 1/4 Ct appears prominently in the lower field in bold numerals and script, flanked on either side by small decorative floral clusters. The overall design is rendered in a clean, utilitarian colonial style with fine detailing in the botanical elements. |

KM#Pn30 identifies this as a pattern strike, not a circulation issue — the Dutch quarter cent had been discontinued in 1906, and this 1934 piece represents an exploratory revival that never advanced to production. No evidence suggests the Mint ever seriously pursued reintroducing the denomination; surviving examples exist almost exclusively in institutional collections.
