Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Charles J. Brooke, second White Rajah of Sarawak, facing left, with finely detailed hair swept back and a light moustache. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic portrait style typical of late Victorian colonial coinage. The legend C.BROOKE RAJAH curves around the upper periphery in incuse lettering, divided by the portrait, with C.BROOKE to the left and RAJAH to the right. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design.
