Obverse description The obverse displays the countermark of the Qu'aiti Sultanate — a small circular punch approximately 10mm in diameter — applied to the host coin. The underlying host coin is a British East India Company 1/4 Anna (KM#446.1), featuring the Company's heraldic shield flanked by two rampant lions, surmounted by a crowned lion passant between two flags. A ribbon below bears the motto 'AUSPICIO REGIS ET SENATUS ANGLIAE', and the date 1835 appears in the lower field.
