| Obverse description | Within a raised inner circle, the Arabic inscription 'مسقط' (Muscat) appears prominently in the upper field, beneath which the Hijri date ١٣١٢ (1312) is inscribed in Arabic-Eastern numerals. The denomination '1/4 ANNA' is legend at the bottom of the inner circle in Latin characters. A continuous circular English legend reading 'FESSUL BIN TURKEE IMAM OF MUSCAT AND OMAN' runs around the outer border, with a milled rim enclosing the entire design. |
