Obverse description Central field occupied by a bold two-line Arabic legend in florid nasta'liq script reading 'al-Sultan Nadir' (The Sultan Nadir), invoking the name and title of Nadir Shah. The calligraphic inscription is rendered in high relief with pronounced stroke weight, filling nearly the entire die area. The legend is surrounded by an open field and enclosed within a beaded (dotted) border following the irregular flan outline. The coin displays characteristic hammered fabric with slight flan irregularity and some original silver luster surviving in the recesses.
