| Obverse description | Uncrowned, right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, rendered in high relief against a mirrored field. The legend ELIZABETH II ISLE OF MAN is inscribed around the upper periphery, with the date 1999 and the mint marks RDM PM completing the circumscription. The portrait is truncated at the shoulder, with fine detail evident in the diadem's jewelled setting and the Queen's neckline. The design reflects the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy standard introduced for Commonwealth coinage in 1998. |
