| Obverse description | Traditional Nepalese mandala-style design in the field, composed of a central square cartouche divided into compartments bearing the royal name and titles of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script. The interlocking geometric framework is adorned with symbolic motifs — including a dharmachakra, a conch shell, a lotus blossom, and a ceremonial lamp — positioned at the cardinal and intercardinal points. The Bikram Sambat regnal date appears at the base of the design. The entire motif is enclosed within a beaded border and a reeded rim. |
