Additional information

Gibraltar has issued small-denomination fractional gold pieces tied to the Concorde theme repeatedly over the past decade, targeting the bullion gift market rather than any collector series with numismatic depth. Concorde itself was retired in 2003 after Air France Flight 4590 in 2000 fatally damaged passenger confidence, and the remaining airframes went to museums.

The 2023 date places this well into the post-Brexit Gibraltar coinage boom, when the territory aggressively expanded its commemorative output.
