A circular legend surrounds the entire design, reading 320. EINE FEINE MARCK, indicating the fineness standard of 320 coins to one fine mark of silver. The typography is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century German mint practice, with strong, deeply cut lettering filling the flan.
