Obverse description Central field bears the ornate quartered coat of arms of the House of Reuss-Greiz, consisting of a divided escutcheon with heraldic lions in each quarter, surmounted by a crested helmet topped with a crane displayed as crest. The shield is flanked by elaborate baroque acanthus scrollwork and mantling. The circular legend reads H · D · XI · E · R · G · U · H · V · P · (Heinrich Duke XI, Elector of Reuss, Count and Lord of Plauen) arranged around the upper periphery in Latin characters.
