Obverse description Central field displays the crowned quartered coat of arms of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, elaborately ornamented with foliate mantling extending to the coin's periphery. The shield features the characteristic Saxon barry with the rautenkranz diagonal, alongside additional dynastic quarterings. A large arched crown surmounts the escutcheon. The peripheral legend reads FRIED. D. G. D. S. I. C. M. A. W. ET ADMINIST, abbreviated from Frederick's full ducal titles in Latin, distributed around the upper and lower edges of the obverse field.
