Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborately interlaced royal cypher 'FR' (Fridericus Rex) in ornate cursive script, surmounted by a large Prussian royal crown with pearled base. The date is divided by the monogram, with '17' appearing to the left and '54' to the right in the field. The design occupies virtually the entire coin surface, with no peripheral legend, in the characteristic baroque style of Frederician coinage.
