| Obverse description | Central shield displaying the crowned, quartered arms of Saxony with the barry of ten (or and sable) crossed by a diagonal bend, surmounted by a large royal crown with elaborate ornamentation. The heraldic achievement is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. A circular legend surrounds the arms in the outer field, with the mintmaster's initial S positioned at the base of the shield. |
