Obverse description Central shield displaying the crowned, quartered arms of Saxony with the barry of ten (or and sable) crossed by a diagonal bend, surmounted by a large royal crown with elaborate ornamentation. The heraldic achievement is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail. A circular legend surrounds the arms in the outer field, with the mintmaster's initial S positioned at the base of the shield.

Reverse description A four-line inscription occupying the central field denotes the denomination and fineness standard, reading '24 EINEN THALER' in bold upright lettering with the date 1827 below. The fractional weight standard '360 EINE FEINE MARK' arches around the periphery of the field in a circular legend. A small decorative four-petalled flower or rosette ornament appears in the exergue below the date, serving as a dividing device.
