Obverse description Two armorial shields bound together by a ribbon bearing the parents' initials, jointly holding a wreath enclosing the initials of John William. The design is rendered in the German Baroque heraldic style typical of early 17th-century Saxon commemorative coinage. A circular legend in Latin and Fraktur blackletter runs around the periphery of the field.
