| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the quartered arms of Mansfeld, combining the characteristic lozengy and barry divisions of the county, surmounted by a comital crown. The shield is rendered in typical early seventeenth-century German heraldic style with bold, deeply struck lines. A circular beaded inner border frames the arms. The Latin legend encircles the periphery, reading the abbreviated titles of the two co-ruling counts, Frederick Christoph and David. |
