Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, engraved in the Young Head portrait style by Leonard Charles Wyon. The queen's hair is elaborately arranged with a jewelled diadem and gathered in a coiled chignon at the nape. A six-pointed star appears in the lower field below the truncation. The peripheral legend reads VICTORIA D.G. BRITANNIAR. REGINA F.D., separated by raised dots, and the coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim.

Reverse description The arms of Jersey displayed on a pointed heraldic shield occupying the central field, charged with three leopards (lions passant guardant) arranged in pale, facing left, rendered in fine detail with lineated background. The date is divided by the shield, with the first two numerals to the left and the last two to the right at mid-field. The surrounding legend, separated by a dot, reads STATES OF JERSEY. above and ONE TWENTY-FOURTH OF A SHILLING. below, all within a beaded border.
