Obverse description Right-facing crowned and draped bust of King Edward VII, engraved by George William de Saulles, wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state with decorations visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the crown and collar. The peripheral legend reads EDWARD VII KING & EMPEROR, disposed around the upper arc, with the designer's abbreviation DES at the lower truncation. The whole is contained within a beaded border.
