| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the large royal cypher of Gustav III — a bold Gothic 'G' enclosing the Roman numeral 'III' — surmounted by a detailed royal crown with cross finial. The crowned monogram is rendered in high relief against a smooth field. The circular legend 'FADERNESLANDET· GIII' arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin characters, translating as 'For the Fatherland.' The coin's milled border is visible along the rim. |
