| Obverse description | Central motif of a bundle of arrows — the heraldic symbol of the United Provinces — displayed within an ornate cartouche of scrolling strapwork, all set against an unadorned field. The cartouche is flanked by elaborate foliate and volute ornaments in a late-Renaissance style typical of Dutch Republican coinage. The date 1595 appears within the encircling legend. A circular legend in Latin reads around the periphery, separated from the inner design by a plain inner border, with a small rosette mint mark visible adjacent to the inscription. |
