Obverse description	The obverse bears the Mexican national coat of arms in high relief at centre, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky islet, grasping a serpent in its beak and right talon. An oak branch appears to the left and an olive branch to the right of the cactus, joined at the base by a ribbon. The entire central device is rendered against a mirror-polished field, encircled by a beaded inner border. The arched legend 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' runs along the upper periphery in Latin characters.

Reverse description	The reverse features the winged allegorical figure of Winged Victory (La Victoria Alada), modelled after the monument atop the Column of Independence in Mexico City, depicted in full figure standing upon the column's capital with her left leg raised, arms outstretched, and large spread wings rising behind her. The figure is set against a satin-finished field with the silhouettes of the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl visible in the lower middle ground. The curved legend '1/20 ONZA PLATA PURA' arcs along the upper left, followed by the year date and 'LEY .999' to the upper right, with the 'Mo' mint mark of the Casa de Moneda de México positioned in the right field.
