Obverse description The obverse bears the first royal legend of Fath Ali Shah Qajar, struck in bold raised Arabic script arranged in three registers across the field, reading 'az Fath Ali sikke beh zar amade shahi' (from Fath Ali came the royal coins of gold). The inscription is framed by two horizontal ruled lines dividing the field into distinct bands, with the text in a fluid nasta'liq calligraphic style. A border of raised pellets encircles the entire design, forming a decorative inner rim typical of early Qajar hammered gold coinage.
