Obverse description Central field occupied by bold, deeply struck Arabic calligraphic inscription arranged in multiple lines within a plain inner border, encircled by a beaded outer border running close to the irregular coin flan. The lettering records the mint name and date, reading 'Struck in Dar al-Marz Rasht, 1208' in Nasta'liq-influenced script. The overall style is characteristic of late Zand and early Qajar hammered gold coinage, with the inscription filling the field without pictorial ornament. The flan shows the slightly irregular outline typical of hand-struck Persian gold of this period.
