Reverse description Central cross of Saint George dividing the field into four quadrants, with a small dot placed at each corner angle of the cross (variety AG#A6 16); an alternative variety (AG#A6 17) features the same cross without the corner dots. The cross is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend surrounds the cross, separated by the beaded border, and is rendered in an upright Roman lettering style consistent with Portuguese hammered silver coinage of the period.
