Obverse description Bust of Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar facing left, depicted in high relief wearing a traditional Qajar astrakhan cap adorned with a jeweled aigrette and plume. The Shah is shown in military dress with heavily decorated epaulettes and an ornate uniform visible at the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic style characteristic of late Qajar coinage. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
