| Additional information |
Wolfgang von Schrattenbach served as Prince-Bishop of Olomouc from 1711 until his death in 1738, presiding over a diocese that retained full coinage rights under the Holy Roman Empire. The half thaler issues of his reign were struck across a date range rather than a single year, suggesting production was tied to periodic silver availability rather than scheduled mint campaigns — not unusual for a smaller ecclesiastical mint working outside the major imperial striking centers.
Schrattenbach is perhaps better known as the patron who appointed Leopold Mozart as court composer in Salzburg, though that connection postdates these coins by several years.
