Obverse description Central device featuring an ornate crested helmet surmounted by a large plume of ostrich feathers, set within a decorative cartouche with scrollwork, resting on a crowned shield. The surrounding legend in Latin reads the abbreviated names and titles of the five ruling brothers of the County of Stolberg. The design is executed in the robust Renaissance style characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century German coinage.
