Obverse description Bare-headed armored bust of Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II facing right, wearing a ruffled collar, rendered in the mannerist court style typical of the late sixteenth century. The effigy is confined within a beaded inner circle, with the legend commencing at approximately 8 o'clock. The surrounding Latin inscription identifies the ruler by name and his principal imperial and royal titles.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with a heraldic shield on its breast bearing the dynastic arms of the House of Habsburg. The mint mark of the Budějovice mint appears in the field at approximately 7 o'clock.
