Additional information

These half thalers from Hall in Tyrol were struck during the Seven Years' War, a period when Habsburg silver output was under sustained pressure to fund military operations against Prussia and her allies. The Tyrolean mint at Hall had operated continuously since the 15th century and remained one of the empire's most productive silver facilities, drawing directly on ore from the Inn Valley.

Herinek's reference numbers 651–658 span at least eight die combinations across the decade, reflecting the volume and variation typical of a working mint under wartime fiscal demand rather than ceremonial production.
