Reverse description The Virgin Mary (Madonna) is depicted in radiant glory, facing slightly left, with the Christ Child cradled on her right arm, both figures surrounded by a halo of rays emanating from a central glory. Below the Madonna is an ornate, two-fold Hungarian coat of arms, divided by the mint mark letters of the Kremnica mint. The date appears within the legend, which encircles the central design and invokes the Virgin as the heavenly patroness of Hungary. The overall composition reflects the deeply Catholic Marian devotion characteristic of Habsburg Hungary and the artistic conventions of Austrian Baroque coinage.
