| Reverse description | Elaborately quartered heraldic shield displaying the combined arms of the Austrian Habsburgs, surmounted by an ornate imperial crown with scrollwork supporters on either side. The shield incorporates the horizontal bars of Austria, the lion of Bohemia, and additional dynastic quarterings rendered in fine detail. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery reading S CÆS M ANTER PROVINC PLEN GV, an abbreviated reference to the Sacred Imperial Majesty and the plenipotentiary governance of the anterior provinces. The heraldic composition is executed in the high-relief hammered tradition of the Ensisheim mint. |
