Obverse description Half-length portrait of Elector John George I facing right, clad in robe and wearing the electoral hat, holding a sword over his right shoulder. His name is divided by the figure as IOH - GEOR in the field. Before him, a quartered heraldic shield bearing the four-fold electoral arms with the central escutcheon of electoral Saxony superimposed, the date divided at either side. The circumferential legend reads VERBVM DOMINI MANET IN ÆTERNVM.
