Obverse description Draped bust of Archbishop Hieronymus von Colloredo facing right, depicted in ecclesiastical vestments with a pectoral cross suspended from a chain at the truncation. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a naturalistic Baroque style, with the engraver's initial M appearing below the bust truncation. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading HIERONYMVS D.G.A.&P.S.A.S.L.N.G.PRIM M., abbreviated titles identifying him as Archbishop and Prince of Salzburg and Primate of Germany. The entire design is contained within a finely toothed border.
