Obverse description Armored bust of Duke Heinrich IX (Henry the Younger) facing left, wearing a plumed helmet and elaborately draped armor, depicted in high relief within a beaded inner circle. The legend encircles the effigy, reading the Duke's titles in Latin abbreviation. The portrait is rendered in the robust Renaissance style characteristic of mid-16th century German coinage.
