| Reverse description | An elaborate allegorical triumph scene in High Baroque style, depicting the armored effigy of King Gustav II Adolf riding a chariot drawn by three winged horses across the vanquished Hydra of Discord, symbolizing his suppression of religious strife during the Thirty Years' War. To the left, a personification of Faith holds an open Bible surmounted by a flaming heart, and to the right, a personification of Courage holds a column; both figures extend laurel wreaths to crown the king. The composition is densely populated with symbolic elements, with an inscription appearing on the chariot wheel, all executed in the refined medallic engraving style for which Dadler was celebrated. |
