Reverse description A panoramic view of the city of Basel with the Rhine River in the middle ground is depicted in the lower portion of the field, rendered in fine engraved detail characteristic of Swiss presentation coinage. Above the cityscape, eight heraldic shields arranged in a semicircular arc display the arms of the allied Swiss cantons and associated territories. The date 1741 appears in the exergue below the city view, flanked by a cornucopia to one side and a laurel branch to the other, symbolizing prosperity and civic honor. The legend BASILEA 1741 is inscribed along the reverse, identifying the issuing city in its Latin form.
