| Reverse description | The reverse features a seven-line German-language memorial inscription filling the central field, recording the birth of George Frederick I at Ansbach on 5 April 1539 and his death on 26 April 1603. The text reads ZV ONOL GEBORN DEN 5 APRIL A° 1539 IN GOTT VER SCHIDEN DEN 26 APRIL A° 1603, set within a beaded border. Surrounding the central inscription, a continuous circular legend in Latin and German carries the devotional phrase IST GOTT MIT VNS WER MAG WIDER VNS SEIN, a German rendering of Romans 8:31. The overall layout is austere and text-dominant, consistent with German Renaissance memorial coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
