| Additional information |
Brandenburg-Franconia was a secondary Hohenzollern line holding the Franconian territories of Ansbach and Kulmbach, and the joint coinage of Georg and Albrecht II reflects the fraternal co-rulership arrangement that governed the margraviate through the late 1530s. Georg died in 1543, which brackets the issue's upper terminus tightly. The Schrötter reference places this among a small cluster of half-thaler denominations struck when the brothers were actively competing with Imperial free cities for commercial credibility in the Franconian trade corridors.
