| Obverse description | Central shield of the Mansfeld arms, quarterly displaying lozengy and barry fields, surmounted by an elaborate ornate helmet with mantling and crest, the date divided by the shield on either side. The peripheral legend running clockwise names the two co-rulers in Latin. The overall execution is characteristic of mid-16th century German Renaissance die work. |
