Reverse description The arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg displayed as a quartered shield, surmounted by a princely crown and an archiepiscopal double cross, the whole ensigned with a broad-brimmed galero from which six tasselled cords descend on each side in baroque profusion. The shield bears the traditional Salzburg device of a lion passant on the upper dexter quarter and the Harrach family arms below. The year of issue appears within the circular Latin legend, which reads D·G·ARCHIEPISCOP·&S·R·I·PRINC·SALISBURG·S·S·A·L· with the date distributed across the upper field. The design is enclosed within a toothed milled border.
